Google Live Previews Help or Hinderence
I really love the way that Google is showing you a preview of the web page from the search result. When you search on Google and you see a result just hover your pointer over the result and up pops a preview of the web page. I think that is a great way to preview the site that you will visit when you click. This is just one of the many reasons that you will want to have a great branded web presence.
All this goodness may have flaw built into it. It seems that according to some websites the live previews are skewing Google Analytics because every time someone hovers over the site it counts as a visit. If you head over to Search Engine Roundtable they offer some solutions on how to get things back on track.
I think that overall the live previews in Google Search is a fabulous new tool.

LinkedIn Discussion at Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce
Just came back from an interesting presentation by Joe Rosenberg about the service LinkedIn at the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce
HACC. The information was designed to get people comfortable with the technology. It was obvious from the turnout that everyone is hungry for information about new and social media. What was clear is the that you need to put in the time to develop your contact list. The point that I brought up was that you need to really have a good handle on who your contacts are since people may call on you to connect them with one of your contacts. You better make sure that you know the person or you can look very foolish if you don’t.

North Essex Chamber of Commerce Presentation
Tonight I had the pleasure of speaking to the North Essex Chamber of Commerce a the Capitol One Bank in West Caldwell. There was a very attentive enthusiastic group. I shared some insight into the digital landscape and how to get started using New Media. The questions were thought provoking and generated some good discussion. Thank you to Rhonda Bassat-Rivera for inviting me. I look forward to attending another meeting in the future.
